Circular economies between production and marketing. Comparing models and experiences"Is the title of the conference to be held tomorrow at the Auditorium (Building U12) of the University of Milan-Bicocca, in Via Vizzola 5, in Milan.

Research Project Leader, Angelo Di Gregorio, Director of the CRIET of the Milan-Bicocca University who anticipates some considerations on circular economies and the topics covered in the conference.

In market dynamics, a topic that is becoming very important and topical is that of circular economies. Circular economies refer to business models that go beyond the traditional production-consumption-disposal approach (linear economy) moving towards production-consumption-recycling / re-use models (circular economy). With the aim of maximizing the use of products and minimizing the consumption of raw materials, the circular model requires companies to adopt technologies and business models based on longevity, renewability, reuse, repair, updating, knowledge sharing and dematerialisation.

The possible contribution in defining the marketing and communication policy is also relevant. One of the most challenging aspects is that circular economies lead companies to a new way of doing business. Through appropriate choices both in production and in online and offline communication, it is possible to combine the efficiency of production systems with a better reputation and, ultimately, a more favorable competitive position compared to competitors.

The conference investigates the possible impacts of circular economies on corporate performance and corporate reputation also in light of the digital transformation underway, identifying business challenges and opportunities, as well as governance and research implications that arise from the need to review the relationship between supply and demand.

A first moment of the conference will be dedicated to the preview presentation of the results of a quantitative survey on a national scale which saw the administration of a questionnaire with CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interview) method, aimed at owners and managers of the main companies operating throughout Italy.

In the second part of the conference, the results of the research will be discussed and compared with the direct experiences of the companies of the round table. Through these best practices, it will thus be possible to glimpse the effects of circular economies on very different sectors.

The CRIET

CRIET it's a inter-university research center established in 2006 by the University of Milan-Bicocca (administrative headquarters), the University of Pavia and the University of Ferrara. Over the years, six other university institutions have joined the project: University of Naples "Parthenope", University of Turin, Polytechnic University of Marche, University of Salerno, University "Carlo Bo" of Urbino and University of Milan.
The CRIET wants to be a new way of "doing" University based on concepts such as public / private convergence, multidisciplinarity, the creation of "networks of actors" of society.
The CRIET is the fulcrum of a network that systematizes the knowledge and interests of universities, institutions and companies, with the aim of promoting the development of the territory.
